Happy November! With just a few weeks until Christmas, I thought I would share with you some of our absolute favorite travel accessories that would make a great gift for your loved ones who love to travel.
1. Luggage- the perfect roller board that is TSA approved carry on size. Did you know that the number 1 stressor for travelers is lost luggage? If you do carry on, that is one less thing to stress about. You don’t have to spend a fortune, but do make sure it is the correct size allowed for carry on. Hard sided and expandable are great- because it is more durable and, for car trips or train trips, you can expand it and take more.
2. Packing cubes- Why use packing cubes? It’s a great way to organize your clothes. Imagine you are taking a trip that will include several different destinations that require different kinds of clothing. For example, last July we attended a professional conference in DC, then fly to Heathrow airport for a few days of sightseeing in London and surrounding areas, then boarded a ship in Southampton to sail through the fjords of Norway. I needed clothes for the professional conference, summer clothes for touring London and then warmer clothes for Norway. By using packing cubes and putting them in order of when I would be using them, I was able to easily organize my outfits for the conference, casual summer touring and chilly and rainy in Norway. You can buy packing cubes on Amazon or find them at Marshalls, TX Maxx and other retailers.
3. Bose noise canceling Earbuds- it is not an exaggeration to say these are worth their weight in gold! Recently, we were on a flight from Toronto to Dallas with a cranky 2 toddler behind me. He was very loud and made sure we all knew he was unhappy to be on the plane. I put in my earbuds, listened to my classical music (and enjoyed a relatively peaceful flight.
4. Personalized World Map or US map: This is a great gift for a world traveler or a US traveler. The company will personalize it with their name. The gift recipient can add all the places they have been and all the places they would like to go. We bought ours from the inline retailer- Map Your Travels.
5. Travel Backpack- I gave these to our girls for Christmas a couple of years ago since they travel often. They were so happy with them, I bought myself one and love it. With the separate compartment for shoes, (hygienic) you can easily pack enough for a long weekend. It has a separate compartment for your computer, and so many separate pockets that you can easily keep your tech gear, clothes, jewelry, shoes and jacket all in separate compartments. I got mine on Amazon.
6. Longchamp- nylon travel bag. I bought a red one 10+ years ago and it has traveled all over the world with me, from Israel to Norway, and it still looks great. It can fold up small to fit in my backpack on the plane, and then I use it as my day bag on sightseeing days and, on the way home, to carry souvenirs for our grandchildren. I got mine at Nordstroms but I have seen them at TX Maxx on occasion for a great price.
I hope these gift ideas are useful to you and will be a blessing to your loved ones.
Until next time, your next adventure awaits....
