I know what you are thinking, “Jackie, why are you talking to me about Christmas before Halloween! Give me a break, girl!” I know. But what I have to say will cost you so much more if I wait to tell you and I want you to get the most from your hard-earned dollars.
So, hear me out…please and thank you.
Several years ago, our family decided to do something crazy. We decided to stop giving each other gifts. I know that sounds harsh…but stay with me. We decided, instead, to give each other experiences and memories that we share together.
For example, Mother’s Day two years ago, our girls surprised me with a flower arranging class in a charming venue along the riverwalk in San Antonio, TX. It was so much fun and we all learned so much. This summer for John’s birthday, I gave him a tour on a fixed wing plane to see Mt Denali; to see the majesty of God’s creation up close and personal was beyond spectacular!
This Christmas, give that special someone the gift of travel: an ocean or river cruise. It could be here in the US, European, Africa, Asia, or Egypt. A cruise is a great way to reconnect with each other, a time of learning, experiencing together and growing.
It can be a time of relaxing and being pampered, playing with your kids or grandkids, your siblings, or your best friends. It can be a time of giving your body a time to rest and heal.
This year, we are offering 2 different plans for our
“Give a Cruise this Christmas” gift program:
Plan A: For those who know what they want. You contact us with a specific trip idea (e.g., a cruise to the Fjords in Norway, a Disney cruise with the grandkids, or a river cruise on the Nile to the Valley of the Kings). We help you book that and, if you want, suggest a few unique shore excursions along the way designed with your interests in mind. Want to play golf in Scotland? Can do. Want to learn how to make macaroons from a Parisian chef, take a bike ride through Italian vineyards that have been growing grapes since the time of the Romans, or take a photographic safari (yes - you can do that from a luxury river cruise ship). We can do all of that for you! We create a lovely present for you to put under the tree for your loved one(s) to open on Christmas morning that will contain all the details. Just imagine the look of joy on their face when they open your gift!
Plan B: For those who aren’t sure what they want. You tell us how much you want to invest and we create a lovely Christmas package that contains several different itineraries from which your loved one can choose. After Christmas, the recipient contacts us and we work with them (and you!) to design the trip of their dreams within the budget you have submitted.
Travel is the one thing you spend money on that makes you richer.
Travel is a fabulous gift because it is something you can enjoy together.
This Christmas, give them something that won’t be returned or just take up space in the closet.
